"It is good to realize that if love and peace can prevail on earth, and if we can teach our children to honor nature's gifts, the joys and beauties of the outdoors will be here forever." ~ Jimmy Carter
Over Memorial Week-end we went out to the sand dunes, a state park, called Little Sahara. The parking lots were packed with RVs and trailers, but we found our own little spot of heaven on a hill and set up some shade and a picnic . . . the weather was perfect and the company superb!
Cory and Ray took out some rockets to the sand dunes, which created lots of fun and gathered quite a crowd of "helpers." Each of the children took turns pushing the button that blasted the rocket off, after we had an official count down, of course, in English, Spanish, etc . . .
Then the race was on to spot the rocket in the sky and run and pick it up when it landed. A now famous Beatle also took his first walk in space, survived the trip and went home to tell his beatle brothers all about his famous ride.
