I Love to See the Temple

This was one of my favorite songs the children would sing as they were growing up. Many years ago, I remember hearing President Kimball say that someday temples would dot the land - I never thought I would live to see that day! What a great blessing it is to live in the time when that is being fulfilled. There are many temples around the world, but standing here on the Draper hillside, on a clear day, you could see four. Because of the weather today, we could only see three - the new Oquirrh temple being built, the Jordan River and the new Draper temple. I enjoy the quiet, the peace, the beauty, and strong spirit of the Lord that you feel when on the temple grounds. I love to see the temple!
We were fortunate enough to be able to go through the beautiful new Draper Temple. It was a fun to watch the children's reactions. Charlie said, "Grandma, it is so nice to know the place where I am getting married is so beautiful!" James, on seeing the font, heading straight for the water saying, "I'm going to jump in it!" Jacob and Sydni were so excited about their very first bus ride!

Our tail gate picnic - just before it started snowing!

The last of the good ones

(sigh) We just used the last of our garden tomatoes - yes, the tasty variety that actually taste like real tomatoes! We have found we can pick the last ones before the frost hits and store them in the cool storage room downstairs and they gradually ripen. And this was the last until next summer!

Shared Birthday

Ashton and Megan share the same birthday ~ Jan 30th, so Megan kindly postponed her celebrations with her family so she and Ethan could join all of us at Britt & Cory's. Cory's sister, Heather made a great dinosaur birthday cake -

and Ashton was so excited about the cake, the candles and each present he opened . . . it is so fun to be 2!!

New toys are always fun!

and Ethan finally got his presents as well! Happy Birthday, Megan, Ashton and Ethan!
