4th of July in Tahoe - on our way

"There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child.  There are seven million."  ~Walt Streightiff
Jacob and Sydni in front of the pioneer home at Lehman Caves in Great Basin National Park
We had a family get together in Lake Tahoe over the 4th of July.  We were fortunate to be able to have Jacob and Sydni come over with us.  They are interesting and fun to be with and great little travelers, most of the time!

Sydni, Sandy and Jacob in Lehman Caves
We had a great time looking at the stalactites, stalacmites, drapery, shields, the organ pipes  and popcorn - the cave is filled with beautiful works of art built over centuries by mother nature.
Sandy and Ray
Ray has always wanted a rusty car in the front yard - This great old one is piloted by a horse's skeleton.
Sydni, Sandy and Jacob
A monument to the amazing pioneers who crossed this desert.
Sydni and Jacob at Hickison Petroglyph Recreation Site
Not far from Ely on Highway 50 aptly dubbed, "the world's loneliest road,", is a small stop worth making. Hickison Petroglyphs are an easy mile walk around and the petroglyphs are dated back nearly 10,000 years.
